My class just finished up studying the solar system. What an awesome unit! The students really enjoyed this unit and the top 3 lessons were the moons phases made out of Oreos, the Adopt a Constellation Project, and the Make a Galaxy Activitity. Check out our pictures to see what we did.

The adopt a constellation project can be found on sciencespot.net. I adapted it and made it my own. I can send you the report sheet my kids use if you would like. I used clear Christmas lights for the ceiling. We spray painted cardboard black, the kids traced their constellations on the board, and then we poked the lights through. Very cool project.
